Contrasting maximum loads given for accessories and adapters.
You can find details on the maximum loads of all adapters and several accessories on this website. Should the maximum load listed for an adapter and its accessory part differ, the lowest value given is the one to be respected.
|
What are the maximum loads based on?
It is nearly impossible to set a universal value for the maximum load of an adapter or accessory because this value depends on many factors: What type of bike do you have (full suspended or hardtail)? What types of routes do you ride on (bike path or downhill)? What is your manner of riding (average or extreme)? The maximum loads we publish are calculated based on endurance tests and practical applications.

Care and service for adapters and accessories
With normal use, no servicing of KLICKfix adapters is necessary. Clean bags with warm water and suds. Do not use any aggressive cleaning products. Regularly check your accessory parts to ensure that they are correctly and securely fastened.
|
My handlebar-adapter is leaning downwards.
If your handlebar adapter is mounted correctly, it can carry loads up to 7 Kg without twisting. Make sure you fix the patented security cable correctly under your stem as shown in the instruction manual. Only this cable carries the load. The 4 clamp-screws have no supporting function and should only be fastened to average tightness.

The use of KLICKfix adapters on carbon or aluminium lightweight bike parts.
With regard to frames, stems, handlebars and seatposts made of carbon, as well as lightweight bike parts made of aluminum, only the producer of those parts can give information about the part's suitability for supporting mounted accessories. For your security, we generally do not recommend mounting bigger accessories on carbon or lightweight bike parts.
